Customer's order today of a small decant of Across Sands from Maison Margiela's Replica line.
I find the sweetness from the dates very unique and accepting although I mostly am not fond of vanilla or tonka bean type saccharine.
The spice is pronounced and is where the warmth comes from.
This is high quality with a pronounced personality. Something similar would be Serge Lutens's Arabie but that is very realistic and sometimes overpowering spices while this can be described as an artistic rendition of sweetish woody spiciness.
Too bad this is discontinued as it is a very good scent.
